Heat inactivation by high temperature as an approach to combat infections caused by airborne pathogens

چکیده
The current pandemic of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection has highlighted the importance control measures to combat infections caused by airborne pathogens. Non-specific actions include various means microorganism inactivation chemical or physical methods targeting structural components a given pathogen. Exposure viruses and bacteria elevated temperatures is one effective for discharging their harmful potential. Using model Human Adenovirus 5 exposed with subsequent titration virus in vitro A549 cells, we showed dramatic decrease titer after heat treatment s at over 100°C. To verify potential closed environment, prototype high-capacity pathogen-cleaning device was constructed tested. Application 2 h an airflow rate 900 m 3 /h room 226 reduced total number microorganisms air more than 50% all collection sites room.

Sunmmiary. Particuilate cell wall polysaccharide synthetase from oat coleoptiles could use either guanosine diphosphate glucose or turidine diphosphate glucose; the latter was a much more effective glucose donor. The neutral polymer derived from uridine diphosphate glu-cose utilization yielded, after cellulase digestion, mostly cellobiose and to a lesser extent a suibstance tentatively identifi...
متن کاملInactivation of an enterovirus by airborne disinfectants
BACKGROUND The activity of airborne disinfectants on bacteria, fungi and spores has been reported. However, the issue of the virucidal effect of disinfectants spread by fogging has not been studied thoroughly. METHODS A procedure has been developed to determine the virucidal activity of peracetic acid-based airborne disinfectants on a resistant non-enveloped virus poliovirus type 1. This viru...
متن کاملAntiviral Combination Approach as a Perspective to Combat Enterovirus Infections.
Human enteroviruses distributed worldwide are causative agents of a broad spectrum of diseases with extremely high morbidity, including a series of severe illnesses of the central nervous system, heart, endocrine pancreas, skeleton muscles, etc., as well as the common cold contributing to the development of chronic respiratory diseases, including the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The a...
متن کاملEVALUATION OF CEFTAZIDIME ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY IN INFECTIONS CAUSED BY BURNS
In vitro evaluation of ceftazidime antimicrobial activity in infections caused by burn and its comparison to the other antibiotics is presented. In vitro tests for susceptibility to ceftazidime and other antibiotics were carried out on 744 bacterial strains collected from burn infections. The results have shown that generally ceftazidime was more active against Pseudomollas aeruginosa an...
متن کاملAirborne virus capture and inactivation by an electrostatic particle collector.
Airborne virus capture and inactivation were studied in an electrostatic precipitator (ESP) at applied voltages from -10 to +10 kV using aerosolized bacteriophages T3 and MS2. For each charging scenario, samples were collected from the effluent air stream and assayed for viable phages using plaque assays and for nucleic acids using quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) assays. At higher...
